Celebrating Our Impact: Showcasing a Culture of Community Service

Walsh Duffield Volunteers and Community Impact

At Walsh Duffield, we believe that genuine success extends beyond business achievements. It’s about our capacity to create a positive influence on the communities we serve. As a fifth-generation, family-owned insurance agency, we have been rooted in WNY since 1860. We are excited to share our annual Community Impact Report, highlighting the difference our team has made in WNY throughout the past year.  Our community investment strategy includes direct contributions, volunteering, employee engagement, and providing support through strategic insurance solutions.

A Year of Service

In 2023, Walsh Duffield invested an impressive $945,833 in Western New York nonprofits. This investment includes corporate contributions of $133,369, employee donations totaling $283,785, an additional $340,900 raised by Walsh Duffield employees for community organizations, and an astounding 5,905 hours of volunteer service from our dedicated team. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support more than 41 nonprofit organizations, each making a significant difference in their respective areas.

Living Our Values

Last year, Walsh Duffield took a look inside and updated our core values to reflect our current landscape.  After surveying the staff, it was clear that the addition of support and inclusion was important to our organization.

“At Walsh Duffield, we have committed to an inclusive culture that guides our behaviors, actions, and the connections we feel with colleagues, clients and the areas we live in.  We believe strongly that our collective community investment is a testament to our values.  I’m proud of our team’s dedication and the positive impact we continue to make in WNY and look forward to continuing this legacy of support well into the future,” explains Sean Keenan, President & COO.

Volunteerism: Going the Extra Mile

Our employees and community team, “The Change Agents” are the driving force behind our community initiatives. They not only contribute financially but also generously give their time and skills. In 2023 alone, our team dedicated a remarkable 5,905 hours to volunteer service, actively making a difference in the lives of those in need. We are proud to foster a culture that values service and empowers our employees to create meaningful change.

Random Acts of Kindness

In 2023, Walsh Duffield piloted a “Pay it Forward” program, giving employees $100 to spend doing a random act of kindness out in the community.  We found that not only did this support our neighbors in need, but through the sharing of individual stories, provided a way for our team to get to know a bit more about each other and the things we are passionate about.
