Reflecting on 2019

As we wrap up 2019, we would like to reflect upon all of the hard work and achievements that this year has brought us.

Family leadership

The beginning of 2019 brought about a positive change for our agency, as Sean Keenan became the fifth generation of family to take organizational control of Walsh Duffield.  With Sean being named President and Chief Operating Officer, he is focused on helping to lead the agency forward, building upon the strong foundation that has been built by the prior generations of the Walsh family.

Our expanded team

We are thankful for our wonderful clients and our hardworking team – including nine new additions that have helped us continue to thrive as your trusted insurance partner.

We’re honored

We pride ourselves on our organizational culture and helping our clients – and we have been recognized for our team’s efforts. We were named a Best Practices Agency by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”).  This is a national recognition based on outstanding customer retention, growth, stability and financial management.  Additionally, we were named one of Buffalo Business First’s Best Places to Work and Top Private Companies for 2019. We also had many recognized on an individual level, within their areas of expertise.

Focus on wellbeing

Wellness continues to be an important part of our culture, and a key service that we provide to our clients.  Internally, we received the American Heart Association’s Gold Recognition for Worksite Wellness, and also began to offer more holistic elements to our internal program – bringing attention to overall wellbeing beyond just physical health.  As a continued sponsor of WNY’s Healthiest Employers, we also continue to encourage our community and our partners to keep wellbeing top-of-mind in their own businesses.

Giving back

We wouldn’t be where we are now if it weren’t for the communities we live in. That’s why as a company, we are dedicated to giving back. This year we have financially supported over 50 organizations and our team members have dedicated their time to various boards and activities throughout the WNY community. In 2019 we had staff delivering meals every week to seniors through Meals on Wheels, celebrating the 20th year of making Easter Baskets for Child & Family Services clients, assembling flowers for the Hospice Flower Bouquet sale, and playing an active role in the United Way Day of Caring.  Additionally, our team collectively took up donations for many great causes, including: The Salvation Army’s Annual Thanksgiving food drive, Holiday gift card donations for The Goodwill of Industries of Western New York, YWCA Brava and Robert Half’s 17th annual suit drive for Buffalo City Mission.

We couldn’t have done it without you!

We are grateful for all our clients – and the hardworking team we have in place to make sure you remain safe & well.  With the help of our many great partners, we are able to serve the needs of individuals, families, and businesses across WNY.  We look forward to continuing the focus on our clients and helping you achieve success in 2020.

From all of your friends at Walsh Duffield – we would like to wish you and your family a happy and healthy new year!
