Walsh Duffield’s Top 7 of ’17

As we close the door on 2017, we reflect on all of the hard work and achievements that the year has brought us. Here is what we would consider Walsh Duffield’s Top 7 of ‘17:

1) Going and growing strong.
With the dedication of our staff, we have experienced impressive double-digit growth compared to 2016.

2) Our expanded team.
Not only are we growing in premiums, but also in size! This year we welcomed 14 new hires across departments and locations, a new record for our company.

3) The big move.
One of our greatest accomplishments was fully integrating our Buffalo and Rochester operations. Our colleagues from three locations made the move into one shared office space at the Culver Road Armory and began operating as one cohesive team under the Walsh Duffield name. This year we hosted many friends, carriers, and clients at the new office – and we are looking forward to much more growth in our new space!

4) Focusing on Retirement Plan Solutions.
This year we have aligned ourselves with Strategic Retirement Partners (a national retirement consulting services firm). Our retirement team now has access to specialists dedicated to all types of retirement plans and can provide guidance in both decision-making and problem solving to meet institutional retirement plan objectives.

6) We’re honored.
We pride ourselves on a family-like culture immersed in wellness, and we have been recognized for all of our efforts. We were named one of Buffalo Business First’s Best Places to Work and received four health-related awards, including national recognition as one of the Healthiest Employers. We also had many recognized on an individual level, within their areas of expertise.

7) Giving back.
We wouldn’t be where we are now if it weren’t for the communities we live in. That’s why as a company, we are dedicated to giving back. This year we have financially supported over 50 organizations, giving over 6% of our pre-tax profits. But more importantly, our team members have dedicated their time to various boards and activities throughout WNY. This year we had staff delivering meals every week to Meals on Wheels, making Easter Baskets for Child & Family Services clients, assembling flowers for the Hospice Flower Bouquet sale, building homes for Habitat for Humanity, and playing an active role in the United Way Day of Caring.

We are blessed to work with many great partners to serve the needs of our many wonderful customers – individuals, families, and businesses across WNY. We have worked hard this year to help keep all of our clients safe and well and look forward to continued success in 2018. Best wishes for a prosperous new year from all of your friends at Walsh Duffield!
