Principal Job Objective

The Benefit Service Coordinator provides service support to the agency’s employee benefit clients and prospects.    The Benefit Service Coordinator will work on a client-level team consisting of an Employee Benefits Sales Consultant, an Account Executive, and other Walsh Duffield support associates.

Major Responsibilities

As a Benefit Service Coordinator, major responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participate with any agency and divisional projects as needed
  • Follow guidelines outlined in WD employee manual.

Daily Responsibilities

Agency specific training will be provided.

  • Provide ongoing day to day account management
  • Assist with creating requests for insurance carrier proposals and collecting required client and plan level data
  • Spreadsheeting and Analyzing carrier proposals
  • Creating renewal presentations using agency tools and format
  • Participate with Consultant and Account Executive on new and renewal presentations
  • Process documentation required by insurance carrier and service providers
  • Auditing carrier policies and plan documents for accuracy and completion
  • Delivering carrier administration kits, policies, and plan documents to clients
  • Maintain and update Walsh Duffield customer relationship system (CRM) for all assigned clients
  • Conduct employee enrollment meetings and assist employees and employers with benefit issues
  • Resolve client administration problems related to billing, claims, and daily administration
  • Assist client with the administration of compliance requirements
  • Assist client with Benefit Administration systems
  • Cross train as needed
  • Adhere to the stated expectations of the E&O Plus Quality Management Program

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years’ experience in employee benefits
  • Microsoft Office Software skills and the ability to utilize computer system and programs and understand functionality.
  • Above average communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Strong commitment to high quality service delivery
  • Must be willing to travel to client offices, generally located within 8 WNY counties
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Strong presentation skills for groups from 2 to 200 + people
  • Ability to research and learn subject matter regarding employee benefits
  • Life & Health license (will be required within the first six months)
